Z-Zero Website Launched!

We are pleased to announce that: 1) Z-Zero's are shipping to dealers and clients and: 2) the model page is now live on our website.

Please note: For the forseeable future, our lead times will be slightly protracted on all Z-Zero orders as we work through the backlog that has been building since fall 2012. Please bear with us, demand is simply outstripping our available labor right now. The building of these bikes cannot and will not be rushed.

Your dealer will be able to give an accurate lead time at time of order. Thanks!

Prius x Parlee

Toyota reached out early this year to us be involved with a concept aero-road bike imbued with the same forward-thinking that went into the design of the Prius. Benefitting from a monocoque carbon-fiber frame, built-in smartphone dock, countless wind-tunnel-tested aerodynamic tweaks and its unprecedented mind-powered shifter, the PXP concept bike has emerged as a purpose-built machine that blends the simple with the complex to become a better and more efficient version of itself. Cycling Weekly gives Z5 10 of 10

UK based Cycling Weekly has weighed in on our Z5. First impressions: 10 out of 10 and "Impossible to fault.", "The Z5 oozes quality. Clean lines from its non-fussy, round tube shapes deliver a ride feel that bucks the trend for huge tube sizes - often more 'show' than 'go'. Impossible to fault."

Not to bad for a build at 14.12lbs (6.4kg) with clinchers!!

Road Bike Action on the Z5

The June issue of Road Bike Action is out and had this to say:

"If a stock Parlee works this well, it's almost frightening (in a judiciously good way) to consider how well a custom Parlee must ride!"

Bicycling Magazine on the Z5

"The result: In corners the bike tracks race-bike quick. It is also quick to jump forward, with fluid power transmission from the overbuilt junction at the bottom-bracket area, designed around the oversized BB30 standard. Other impressions were consistent with past experiences on Parlees (a Z1 won our 2007 Editors’ Choice award for dream road bike). The Z5, like the Z1 and the Z4 before it, is fast as hell but doesn’t hurt you to extract that speed, nor does it coddle you at the expense of performance."

Australian Triathlete magazine reviews the TT

Australian Triathlete Magazine has done an intensive review of the TT:

"From the moment I got on the Parlee TT I felt that old familiarity that one feels when a bike rides as smoothly as this one. Yes, I set my position as I would like but from the start I felt fast on the TT. I was fortunate to have a great training partner to hang onto in the large shape of three-time Olympic rowing champion Drew Ginn, who himself was preparing for the national TT championships and every time I rode the TT, I was pushing it to the very limit. I rode the bike on the undulations of Melbourne’s Kew Boulevard and the Parlee floated up the small rises with relative ease, hugged the long sweeping corners and was rock solid in a straight line whilst in full aero tuck. It was blisteringly fast on the descents, a fact that drove Ginn insane as I was able to get up the road before each undulation and managed to stay in touch despite all common sense suggesting otherwise. Whether I was in or out of the saddle the bike felt like it accelerated underneath me with startling responsiveness. I felt that I was able to gain and maintain momentum with a great deal of ease."

"The next thing that stood out was the weight of the bike. I have ridden many TT model bikes that aim to achieve an aerodynamic advantage by using large oversize and angular tubes, but this commonly comes at the small expense of weight gain. While Parlee use beautifully sculptured aerodynamic shapes there is no excess and in this they claim to have achieved one of the lightest production TT frames available. I struggled to get the bike to a UCI acceptable weight limit and in fact had to look for weighty additions to make the weight standard. While weight is not the be-all-and-end-all in time trialing, I was very comfortable in knowing that I would not at all be disadvantaged if the roads were to go up and again the Parlee TT raised eyebrows when people inevitably picked it up for closer inspection." Full review to come!
